RCKC collaborated with Persatuan Oftalmologi Hospital Umum Sarawak to organise a Katarak Karnival at the Sarawak General Hospital over these two days. This is in conjunction with World Sight Day 2023 where a total of 51 patients will undergo their cataract operations. Their lenses were generously provided by Latter Day Saints Charities, while their patient surgery fees were waived by the hospital.
These patients were pre-screened beforehand at Serian District Hospital and the club arranged for them to be transported via bus to SGH. The prevention of blindness projects such as these remain a signature of RCKC, thanks to the generosity of our donors and Rotary friends.
